At over 50 years of age, one businessman in particular has accomplished much in such a short amount of time. During this interview, Andy Wirth explained the history of this resort and added the fact that the Squaw Valley Ski Resort has been in business for over 70 years and will not be going out of business anytime soon. As this resort was originally owned by the Cushing family, he has been entrusted by Nancy Cushing to continue operating the business into a larger and more successful one. Within the last five years of running the ski resort, Andy Wirth has already began renovating the resort with over $70 million. This investment will show long-term improvements and will continue to bring in more customers.

In regards to the current issue of the drought, Andy Wirth surprised the hosts of this radio station by stating that he is actually glad for this drought. Rather than having a ski resort that will go out of business, Andy Wirth will make the necessary changes to actually profit on this drought. Andy Wirth plans to not only invest in the snow making industry, but he also plans to create more events that will attract visitors as well as the community to his resort during the winter.

Though Andy Wirth is a ski resort owner, he also plans to promote the beauty of the Tahoe Valley. Andy Wirth’s resort has other activities to offer such as swimming, hiking, and spending time in one of the most beautiful places in the world. Though the drought will mean less available water to consume, Andy Wirth has already made investments to use renewable energy. This will turn the resort into a green resort which will have a small environmental impact on the area. These investments will in turn be profitable for the resort.
